In July 2021, Krafton reported that the game surpassed 20 million pre-registrations on Google Play Store alone, making it a strong rival and direct competition to the newly announced Apex Legends Mobile from Electronic Arts. It is developed by PUBG Studios an internal division of the South Korean video game developer Krafton. In February 2021, PUBG Studios announced the development of a separate entity PUBG: NEW STATE, as a sequel to PUBG Mobile, set in the near-future (year: 2051) as a part of the PUBG Universe. Īccording to Krafton, the game is expected to feature "state-of-the-art Global Illumination rendering technology" for improved graphics without impacting the performance. It will feature weapon customization with different fire mode selection, grenade launcher with additional attachments and other performance enhancements. The map features a defunct shopping mall. The New State will feature interactable objects and buildings with destructible windows. The vehicles include futuristic bikes, cars and buggies. New features include Drones, ballistic shields, neon sights, combat roll ability, reviving teammates and 'recruiting' knocked out enemies in addition to the gameplay featured in the PUBG Mobile are some of the new mechanics in PUBG: NEW STATE. The 8⨯8 TROI map is set in the year 2051 with futuristic environment, buildings, architectures and monuments. The PUBG: New State features gameplay and controls similar to that of the PUBG Mobile, 100 players are deployed on a remote island named TROI, to Gather supplies and fight against each other while struggling for survival and the last one stands become winner.
